Story Extravaganza is NHCPL’s annual storytelling festival for children. Each spring, Mr. Scooter invites artists to donate a 5-10 minute performance of their favorite children’s book and demonstrate different early literacy skills. Performances range from storytelling to music to dance to even ventriloquism. Past performers have included the likes of Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, No Sleeves Magic, Mr. Erik – Rock & Roll Storyteller, Scott McCormick, – author of Mr. Pants, Birdy Jones – author of Mister Cool and more! During intermission, families visit with the artists and participate in other early literacy activities such as arts and crafts, story walk and baby obstacle course.
